My R1 has had some minor modifications. The Akrapovic titanium slip-on was mounted after the original carbonfiber slip-on was damaged in a crash. This slip-on is one of the most silent replacement dampers I could find, but it makes a great sound. It also looks great on an R1. And it even makes it 2.5 KG lighter and adds a couple of horses and some torque at all revs. Plus it makes the throttle response even better than it already was originally.

Before I had the stock slip-on replaced, the first modification to my R1 was an Extreme Tech steering damper. The front wheel of an R1 tends to get very light when accellerating hard out of corners. Tiny bumps in the road can cause a shimmy. This steering damper does a good job in preventing that. The position makes it very easy to adjust the damping settings while driving.

Another modification to improve the handling are the steelflex brake lines for both the front and rear brakes. With these, you got a lot more control of what the brakes are doing exactly.

The last modification to my R1 are the front blinkers. I replaced those with flushmount flashers from Graphic Art Moto Design. Looks much better than the originals, and makes it easier to get it through a narrow door :-)
